M. Katherine “Kitty” Uetz grew up in Dayton, Ohio, studied at the Dayton Art Institute, the University of Dayton and the University of Cincinnati, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in 1990 and Master of Fine Arts degree in 1995. She currently teaches fiber arts at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is Director for the Xavier University Art Galleries. Her work has encompassed a wide range of fiber art techniques, including weaving and dyeing, discharge dyeing, Batik, silk painting, quilting, mixed-media fiber sculpture, and art to wear. 

M. Katherine’s art has been exhibited at museums and art galleries around the country, including the Textile Museum in Washington, D.C., the Cahoon Museum in Cotuit, MA, the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum, Coshocton, OH, the Canton Museum of Art, Canton, OH, the Fitton Center, Hamilton, OH, Middletown Arts Center, Middletown, OH, the Dayton Visual Arts Center, Dayton, OH, and the Carnegie Arts Center in Covington, KY. Her work has also been in exhibitions at Xavier University, the University of Cincinnati, and U.C. Clermont, the College of Mount St. Joseph, and Pima College in Tucson, AZ.
